Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set up

an appointment?

All counseling is done by appointment only.  We recommend that you begin by reviewing the counselor descriptions on the Staff page, as well as each counselor's "Professional Disclosure Statement" on the Forms page.  If you find a counselor that you think could be a good fit for your needs and schedule, you can contact that counselor directly.  You can also request an appointment (or ask questions or get additional information) by contacting us through the submission form on our Home page.

When you contact us, please provide some general information (as much as you're comfortable sharing) regarding the reasons for seeking counseling, as well as your availability for counseling appointments.  After receiving your information, we should be able to determine if NWCC has a counselor who's a good fit for your needs and schedule.  If necessary, we can provide you with referrals to other trusted providers.

What are your

hours/availability?

NWCC offers appointments Monday through Saturday, including limited evening appointments.

Please note that hours and availability vary by counselor (you can view each counselor's availability on Our Team page.

What are your fees?

The fee for individual counseling is $100-120 per 55-minute session, dependent upon your household income.  The fee for couples/group counseling (more than one client) is a flat fee of $120.

Payment is accepted by cash, check, or debit/credit (or HSA cards that can be used as debit/credit).

NWCC is happy to work with churches or other "3rd-party" providers that want to provide financial support to a client.  In these cases, please have the person or organization that is providing financial assistance contact NWCC (or the counselor you will be working with) to coordinate the details.

 Do you accept insurance?

NWCC does not accept insurance, so all fees must be paid directly by the client. However, you are welcome to contact your insurance company to ask if they provide "out-of-network" coverage for counseling services.  If so, you may be able to submit your receipts from NWCC and receive reimbursement for a portion or percentage of the amount you spend on counseling services.  Please refer to your insurance plan and contact your provider for details.

Please let your counselor know if you plan on seeking reimbursement through insurance.  NWCC will be happy to provide you with receipts, CPT and/or DSM codes, and any other documentation that may be required by the insurance company.

Please note that even if you have insurance coverage, there is no guarantee of payment for services provided.  Not all counseling services (or diagnoses) are "reimbursable" by insurance companies.  For example, general marital or relationship counseling is often not covered, unless there is a specific/diagnosable mental health issue.

Finally, please note that insurance companies usually require a diagnosis code to be considered for coverage/reimbursement, and mental health diagnoses can become a permanent part of your medical/health record.  Please contact us (or talk to your counselor) if you have any questions.

How long will it take to get scheduled?

And how often

will I need to come?

The more flexible you can be, the easier it will be to get an appointment quickly. Most people want late-afternoon and/or early evening appointments, so the demand for these appointments is extremely high.

Frequency of counseling will need to be determined by you and your counselor.  On average, most clients schedule appointments weekly, or bi-weekly (every-other-week).  Many clients come more frequently when starting the counseling process, then add more time between sessions as they begin to see positive changes and results.

What if I'm not seeking faith-based counseling?

That's completely OK... everyone is welcome at NWCC!  You will always be treated with care and respect, regardless of your spiritual beliefs.  You do not need to be a "spiritual" person, or a person of any specific faith, to receive and benefit from counseling services at NWCC.

NWCC's counselors are experienced in providing therapeutic services that are aligned and integrated with Christian theology and teaching.  However, this is only upon request by the client, and clients always have the right to request or decline a faith-based approach.  NWCC's counselors will always respect the rights and beliefs of the client.

Please contact us if you have questions or concerns, and we'll be happy to assist you and help you determine whether NWCC is the best fit for your needs.  If not, we can help provide referral options to other trusted providers.
