Rebecca's Story

Rebecca has more than 15 years of experience as a Christian counselor and is the co-owner of NWCC (with her husband, Chris).

Rebecca’s first experiences in counseling were in a church-based environment, while working as a full-time staff member at her church. Rebecca provided volunteer “lay counseling” services in both the Personal Care and Women’s Ministry areas, focusing on topics such as communication, conflict resolution, women’s issues, marriage, and premarital assessment and counseling.

In 2007, Rebecca left her full-time church position to begin her master's program and pursue a new career in professional counseling. From 2010 to 2013, Rebecca worked as a Therapist at the Calvary Addiction Recovery Center, a residential treatment program for men and women addicted to drugs and alcohol. Since 2013, Rebecca has been working as a therapist in private practice settings. Rebecca is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as well as an AZBBHE-approved Clinical Supervisor.

Rebecca provides counseling to individuals and couples. She can work with many different issues, but her primary focus areas tend to be: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, church hurt, spiritual issues, motherhood and parenting, women’s issues, and marriage issues (recovery from affairs, communication/conflict, emotional detachment and disconnection) and more. Rebecca utilizes strategies and interventions from a variety of different therapies, but her primary therapeutic approach is CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy) and attachment-based principles and theory, aligned with a Christian perspective (for clients that are wanting Christian-based services).

Rebecca has a passion for helping hurting people and restoring broken relationships. Her goal is to come alongside hurting clients and provide a safe and understanding place for them to share their burdens and address the issues that are causing distress. She can encourage, support, and guide clients into learning skills and developing tools that can assist them in accomplishing their counseling goals.
