Tara's Story

Tara has more than 3 years of experience serving the Valley as a licensed associate counselor. She completed her Masters in Christian Counseling at Grand Canyon University in 2020. Tara began as a contractor with NWCC in January 2024.

Tara provides counseling to adult individuals and couples. She works with many different issues, but her primary focus areas are: anxiety, depression, grief/loss, spiritual issues, body image issues, relationship issues, communication/conflict, anger management, and self-confidence/worth.

Tara utilizes different strategies and interventions, but her primary therapeutic approach is CBT (Cognitive-behavioral therapy) when appropriate for her clients. Our thoughts can shape the way we feel and behave, so it is important to identify and address negative, distorted thinking patterns that keep us stuck in cycles.

When working with couples, one of her key focus areas is building strong communication and emotional connection. Tara helps couples learn how to truly hear each other, express needs with respect, and work through conflict in ways that strengthen their bond. Healthy relationships are rooted in understanding and trust—and Tara partners with her clients to work to restore those foundations.

As Tara works towards her full licensure as an Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), she is dedicated to ongoing learning and professional growth. Tara actively pursues continued education and training in many different areas, but also in areas that are close to her heart such as trauma recovery, anxiety disorders (particularly Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), grief counseling, and relationships/marriage counseling. Tara believes staying informed and equipped helps her to serve her clients with excellence and care.

Tara has a deep passion for helping and serving others—because she believes no one should have to live their life feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or burdened by mental health challenges. Tara’s mission is to walk alongside each person with compassion, creating a safe space for healing, growth, and rediscovery. She is honored to be a part of each of her client’s journeys, and is excited to provide support and encouragement, while fostering hope. Everyone deserves to experience peace, purpose, and the fullness of life.
